Install the Add-on
First, install Gmail to Jira from the Google Workspace Marketplace:
- Open the Google Workspace Marketplace
- Search for "Gmail to Jira" by InnovaApps
- Click Install and accept the permissions

Connect Your Jira Account
After installation, connect to your Jira Cloud workspace:
- Open Gmail and find an email you'd like to convert
- Look for the Gmail to Jira icon in the right sidebar
- Click Connect to Jira
- Sign in to your Atlassian account when prompted
- Select the Jira site you want to use

Create Your First Issue
You're ready to create Jira issues from emails:
- Open any email in Gmail
- Click the Gmail to Jira icon in the sidebar
- Wait for the AI to analyze the email (or skip AI mode)
- Select your project and issue type
- Review and edit the summary and description
- Click Create Issue
